Playing with calendars
So I’ve been looking at WP calendaring plugins and widgets. Spent an embarrassingly long time, sent some email that’s now embarrassing too, because the best way to go is a code snippet offered by google in the Gcal settings. Doh.
So - the sidebar is one example (text is a little small and uninformative, and there’s a tab missing due to lack of rom) and the Arb-Cal is another example. Wide pages are a good thing with this.
Not very funny.
At 4:50 in this goes from being not very funny to really bad and kinda scary. At what point have I joined the tin foil hat-wearers?
Cows with guns.
Mitten sent this off like a week ago via twitter and we enjoyed it so much Maria asked me to dig it out again. I suspect she’s trying to cheer me up after the MSU loss to UM tonight.
Thanks Mitten for this twitter - a gem.

Short summary - actually writing
It’s been too long since writing or posting anything to the blog so this is a 1/2-hearted attempt to remedy that. Let’s see things tech I’ve been playing with recently… I successfully migrated a blog with 1000+ posts from Blogware to a Wordpress site recently. Rather proud of that one - and very happy not to have to [ctrl-c] [ctrl-v] until I wanted to jump from something high.
I’m looking a Joomla again for a possible upcoming project. It needs multiple levels of authoring, and other nifties that WP can’t do.
Oh - and I need to remember to look into a new-on-the-scene CMS that’s award or near-award winning and has lots of interesting sounding ajax in it… something like blue streak or silver streak or something….
In other news I’m an uncle again Carlyanne Smith was born yesterday morning. Some more about that on Maya’s blog.
My ride to dinner is here so more to post later.
Cheers,
Matt
Someday when I also have far too much time on my hands I want to count the number of cuts in this video - it didn’t seem like very many.
