Airplane reading; The Great Stagnation by +Tyler Cowen. Will be moderating a debate with him and +Erik Brynjolfsson at Techonomy. Excellent book, read it.

Some key takeaways:
-the rate of innovation was higher in the 1800s "because innovation was easier and it could be dine by amateurs." (I'd argue we are seeing exactly that on the Internet, the rise of the amateur)
-the biggest productivity gain of the past few years has come from "discovering who is not productive and firing them"
-"Most Web activities do not generate jobs and revenue at the rate of past technological breakthroughs." ( This will be the crux of the debate)
